directions to woodpeckers fishery....crawley

From Junction 10 of the M23, head east for about half a mile until you come to the Copthorne Roundabout (recognisable because the entrance to the Copthorne Hotel is on the roundabout). Almost double back on yourself, past the Copthorne Hotel entrance, and take the A2220 heading south-west. After just a couple of hundred yards, take the road on your left. This is Old Hollow. The entrace to woodpeckers is up on the left opposite lakeview fishery and has 2 big signs...
drive up the track and through the farm then turn right upto the car park...
you will need a trolley or barrow as you now follow the track through the field upto the first of the 2 lakes (woodpeckers)
approx 5 min walk....

rules for the fishery state that you can top fish at this fishery but boilies and nuts are banned.....
i have only fished the top lake (osprey) b4...
i love the method feeder here with hard halibut pellet on the hook but have also had fish on the top...
have had a 2nd place and a 3rd place here both without using a pole!!!

depths vary peg to peg and has plenty of fish silvers as well as carp....
biggest carp ive seen here was a 15lb mirror

most common size of carp is 1lb-2lb carp

excellent ornamental cross carp upto 4lb....... massive tails with good fight on light line and rod..

maggots always catch here
you can bag lots n lots of quality silvers..... Rolling Eyes
